Great Notion Colt Brings $60,000 At Timonium
Leads Maryland Sires On First Day Of Sale
05/19/2009- A juvenile colt from GREAT NOTION’s second crop sold for $60,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-year-olds in training sale on May 18 in Timonium. He was the highest-priced Maryland-sired 2-year-old sold on the first day of the two-day sale.
Consigned by agent Lynne Boutte, the bay Pennsylvania-bred named Belle’s Notion was purchased by Dennis and Eileen Jacques. From the family of champion Lord Avie, the colt is out of the placed mare Belle’s Miss (by Press Card); his second dam is stakes winner Northland Belle (by Carnivalay), a half-sister to graded winner Primitive Hall. Belle’s Notion was sold as a weanling by the estate of Sam Guiffrida for $1,700 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic December Mixed sale in 2007.
