Sprinter By Not For Love Explodes For Grade 2 Win At Calder
07/11/2009- NOT FOR SILVER made the statement that he is one of the best 3-year-old sprinters in the country with an electrifying stretch run in the Gr. 2 Carry Back S. on July 11, part of Calder Race Course’s Summit of Speed Day.
The Ted Julio-owned son of NOT FOR LOVE sat off a blazing pace in the 6-fur.Carry Back before rallying for a 4 1/2-length score. It was the second stakes win of the year for the Mike Trombetta trainee, and followed an excellent performance when he finished second in Pimlico’s Gr. 3 Hirsch Jacobs S. on Preakness Day. Bred in Maryland by Dark Hollow Farm, William deBurgh and George Harris, NOT FOR SILVER has earned $233,730 from seven lifetime starts, in which he has won four and been second twice.
NOT FOR LOVE’s daughters LOVE THAT DANCE and TALKIN ABOUT LOVE, both New Jersey-bred champions, continue to add to their record after hitting the board in Monmouth Park’s Spruce Fir S. on July 12. NOT FOR LOVE, the top-ranked stallion by North American earnings standing outside of Kentucky for the past six years, has sired 109 stakes horses to date and his runners have earned an average of $83,060. They are worth their weight in gold!
