NOT FOR LOVE's Numbers Rise
Eclipses $4-Million Mark With Another Stakes Winner At Philadelphia Park
09/19/2009- Reaching the $4 million mark in progeny earnings for the eighth consecutive year, NOT FOR LOVE once again ranks as the leading U.S. sire standing outside of Kentucky. And the remarkable sire got his 10th stakes winner of 2009 as Fast Forward Racing Stable LLC’s ALWAYS FOR LOVE scored her first stakes win in Philadelphia Park’s Mrs. Penny S. on the Pennsylvania Day At the Races card on Sept. 19.
Trained by Guadalupe Preciado, ALWAYS FOR LOVE demolished the field as the 3-5 favorite, drawing off to win by nine lengths in the 1 1/16 mi. turf test. The 5-year-old mare, bred in Pennsylvania by Daniel Ljoka, is her sire’s 60th career stakes winner.
NOT FOR LOVE is well represented for the next big race day, Maryland Million Day, at Laurel Park on Sept. 26. His runners account for nearly a quarter of the 187 pre-entries, and he has nearly four times as many pre-entered as the next stallion represented. NOT FOR LOVE has sired at least two Maryland Million winners on each of the past seven cards, and ranks second on the all-time leading sires list with 16 Maryland Million wins.
