Mare By Not For Love Brings $260,000 at Keeneland

11/13/2009- WAQUOIT’S LOVE, one of NOT FOR LOVE’s dozen stakes winners in 2009, sold for a solid $260,000 as a young broodmare prospect on the third day of Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock Sale on Thursday, Nov. 12. The 6-year-old mare, in foal for the first time to the cover of Exchange Rate, was consigned by Three Chimneys Sales, agent, and purchased by Sparks View Farm, agent.

A multiple graded stakes-placed runner at 5, WAQUOIT’S LOVE burst through with her first stakes win in January 2009 at Gulfstream Park. She made one more start, getting an eventful trip which resulted in a thrilling blanket finish in the Gr. 3 Suwannee River in February, before heading off to stud. Out of the course record-setting WAQUOIT mare Waquoit’s Tune, from the family of MADDY’S LION, MADDY’S HEART and MADDY’S WAQUOIT, the gray WAQUOIT’S LOVE earned $267,037 during her 24-start career.
