Jump Start's son San Pablo wins big at Belmont.

YouTube SanPFacing a stellar field on the Friday afternoon card at Belmont Park, SAN PABLO shook off the rust and shot to a commanding victory in the Criminal Type S. on June 14, brushing aside Gr. 1 victor Hymn Book and multimillionaire Mucho Macho Man to win by three and a half lengths. His final time was 1:41.14 for the mile and a sixteenth on the main track rated good.

It was the seventh stakes win at five different tracks for the 5-year-old owned by Burning Sands Stable LLC and trained by John Parisella. A stakes winner each year he has competed, SAN PABLO has earned $565,000 from 18 starts, with 10 wins, four seconds and a third. The winner of five stakes in 2012, including the Gr. 3 Philip H. Iselin H., he finished second in his 2013 debut in the Essex H. at Oaklawn Park.

SAN PABLO is one of six stakes horses this year to date for JUMP START, and his third stakes winner in the past four weeks. JUMP START is the sire of 35 stakes winners in his first seven crops, and his runners have amassed nearly $27 million (average earnings of more than $72,000!) Consistently one of the top ranked sires in the Mid-Atlantic region, JUMP START is the sire of three millionaires—veteran RAIL TRIP, second in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile-G1 in his final start of 2012 and posting bullet workouts for his return in 2013; PRAYER FOR RELIEF, second in this year’s Lone Star Park H.-G3 over the Memorial Day weekend; and 2013 multiple graded stakes placed PANTS ON FIRE.
