JUMP START juvenile among standouts at record breaking OBS Spring Sale

A Pennsylvania-bred JUMP START filly, a mid-May foal, turned in an impressive pre-sale work, and continued to impress buyers when sold for $160,000 at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2014 Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training on Wednesday, April 23. Alex and JoAnn Lieblong purchased the filly out of the Dayjur mare Taanis, who is also the dam of graded stakes-placed Jockey Ridge. The family includes group winner Muqtarib.

The filly, from the second Pennsylvania-sired crop of JUMP START, is one of eight six-figure juveniles by the son of A.P. Indy to have sold over the years. Twenty-three of his sales juveniles were fillies, who have averaged more than $80,000!

The sire of 69 stakes horses in his first eight crops to race, JUMP START has gotten off to a fantastic start with his Pennsylvania-sired crops. The first, now 3-year-olds, has yielded four stakes horses this year, including Gulfstream Park stakes winner JUST CALL KENNY and Parx stakes winner ELEVATED, as well as 2-year-old graded stakes-winning filly MISS BEHAVIOUR.
