Summertime fun with JUMP START!

Graded stakes, winning streaks. . . 3-year-olds and older runners. . . distances short, long and in between. . . JUMP START runners have been having great fun during this summer season!

The JUMP STARTs were jumping the last week of July into the early days of August. His millionaire son PANTS ON FIRE returned to the races for the first time since a December trip to Japan, and hit the board in the Gr. 2 Monmouth Cup S. at Monmouth Park on July 27. It was the dark bay 6-year-old’s 11th time on the board in a stakes race, his eighth in graded company. George and Lori Hall’s handsome homebred now has earned $1,217,635.

It was a Grade 1 effort for JUMP START’s 3-year-old daughter MISS BEHAVIOUR, who finished second in Saratoga’s Gr. 1 Test S. on Aug. 2. Seven times in nine starts Cal MacWilliam and Neil Teitelbaum’s pretty bay filly has earned black-type. And she has also earned $442,000.

Sprinting is the name of the game for UNCLE TODD, a 5-year-old JUMP START son who earlier this year captured the four and a half-furlong Webb Snyder Charles Town Dash S. and on Aug. 2 finished third at the same distance in the West Virginia Legislature Chairman’s Cup S. at Mountaineer for owner Robert L. Cole Jr.

Robert Barnett’s homebred filly JUMPED THE HARBOR also was a stakes winner earlier this year, and in her first stakes start since was third in Prairie Meadows’ Donna Reed S. on Aug. 2. She has been on the board in five straight.

DISCO CHICK is on a three-race winning streak, adding her third allowance score in a row on Aug. 2 at Parx. Racing in the colors of her breeder Y. Jerry Kolybabiuk’s Freedom Acres, the 3-year-old filly has been on the board in eight of her nine starts.

James H. Iselin, Charlotte Assoulin and Eli Gindi’s 6-year-old mare WILLET recorded her eighth career win (and 15th on-the-board finish in 17 starts) with a six-furlong allowance romp on July 30 at Saratoga. The four-time stakes winner has now earned $565,900.

The numbers continue to grow for JUMP START. He is the sire of 42 stakes winners and 30 stakes-placed runners – a dozen having won or placed in stakes this year, including Argentine Gr. 1 winner LIVINGSTONE. And he ranks first among Mid-Atlantic sires by 2014 number of stakes winners. Things are hopping for JUMP START!
