SILVER TRAIN’s SILVER OCEAN a Scandinavian delight with third stakes win of 2012!

Silver-Ocean-Taby-SwedenMaking his way back to Sweden’s Taby Racecourse, SILVER TRAIN’s 4-year-old son SILVER OCEAN strolled home in the Tattersalls Nickes Minneslopning at one mile on the main track on Sept. 9, finishing five lengths on top while defeating 10 rivals as the 4-5 favorite. It was the third stakes win of the year for the international runner, who captured Taby’s Swedish Open Mile over the turf in July and Norway’s Group 3 Polar Cup at seven furlongs on the turf in August.

That makes six wins in a career where SILVER OCEAN has traveled the globe, from England to Japan, Dubai to France, Germany to Sweden and Norway. He has a record of 22-6-6-2 and career winnings of $335,515. This year he has earned $178,460 in 10 starts, with four wins, two seconds and a third.

Ranked as the highweighted 3-year-old in Italy in 2011 (from 7 to 9 1⁄2 furlongs), SILVER OCEAN was a two-time stakes winner in Italy earlier in his career and Group 2-placed in Germany. He is SILVER TRAIN’s second leading career earner and his top runner of 2012.

SILVER TRAIN ranks as one of the nation’s top third-crop sires in 2012 with progeny earnings in excess of $2.3, and has five stakes horses for the year to date, including Mexican Group 1 winner ENAITZ and New York stakes winner ZETTERHOLM.

Hallå, hei, ciao, hola, bonjour, hello. . . no matter what the language, owners are eager to welcome SILVER TRAIN runners!
