One of the most prolific sires of winners in the nation since his first runners came to the races in 2010, SILVER TRAIN is tied for first by number of juvenile winners in 2012 in the Mid-Atlantic region. He got his 15th and lead-tying 16th 2-year-old winners the third week of December.
The Louisiana-bred colt Fiftyshadesofbay set all the fractions in winning a seven and a half-furlong maiden special at Delta Downs on Dec. 19 by three and three-quarter lengths. Two days later, West Virginia-bred filly Last Train drew off to win a maiden special by five lengths at seven furlongs.
The SILVER TRAIN runners make their way all around the world! His 2-year-old filly GUARAGUAU won the Gr.2 Gran Promesa at Hipodromo De Las Americas in Mexico, and on Dec. 15 finished third on the country’s juvenile championship day in the Gr.1 Clasico Campeonato Juvenil. And his 2-year-olds have won all around the country—Belmont Park, Pimlico, Hollywood Park, Monmouth Park, Penn National, Calder, Woodbine, Evangeline Downs. . .
SILVER TRAIN had 24 juvenile winners when they first debuted in 2009—the second-most for a freshman sire in the nation that year. He was the leading second-crop sire by number of winners in 2011, with 78 worldwide. And he has broken the 100-mark by number of winners in 2012—that’s fifth highest in the nation among third-crop sires!
With just three crops to race, SILVER TRAIN has sired more than 72 percent winners from starters and 20 stakes horses! Fast and reliable—SILVER TRAINs get to the winner’s circle!
