Northview Stallion Station October Open House Features Irish War Cry Get a jump on the 2019 breeding season!

Northview Stallion Station’s newest arrival, classic-placed millionaire IRISH WAR CRY, and the rest of the high-powered Maryland roster will be available for inspection on Sunday, October 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Chesapeake City.

IRISH WAR CRY was one of the most dynamic runners of his generation and offers breeders a top-class racehorse with great presence, beautiful balance and an impressive physique. The son of leading sire Curlin won four stakes and earned $1,257,060 while capturing the Gr. 2 Holy Bull, Gr. 2 Wood Memorial and Gr. 3 Pimlico Special, was a game second as the favorite in the Belmont Stakes-G1, and earned five triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures. Out of the Polish Numbers mare Irish Sovereign, the handsome 4-year-old chestnut is a half-brother to graded stakes winner Irish Strait and stakes-placed Irish Politics.

MADEFROMLUCKY made a smashing stud debut in 2018! The grand-looking, multiple graded stakes winner of $1.35 million is by two-time champion Lookin At Lucky, also the sire of this year’s top-ranked handicap horse Accelerate, out of Home From Oz, a FULL SISTER to preeminent leading sire TAPIT, from the family of top-class sires Summer Bird, Rubiano, Relaunch and Glitterman.

Maryland’s leading sire GREAT NOTION is having his best year yet! His 2018 runners include Grade 3 stakes-winning sprinter Ruby Notion and addtional stakes winners Lewisfield, Anna’s Bandit, 3-year-old filly Goodonehoney and 2-year-old son Come Sundown.

GOLDEN LAD had his first-crop yearlings go to the sales this year, and what a debut! At the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Fall Sale, he had a $120,000 filly and was the leading sire by gross, with 19 selling for $514,500, for an average of $27,079.

BANDBOX has his first runners at the track this year, and in less than a week got his first two winners, both at Laurel Park. He ranks as the leading active first-crop sire in the Mid-Atlantic region.

BUFFUM’s numbers continue to astonish. In his first two crops, he has a total of 15 foals. Nine have started – seven are winners. All six juveniles starters have won, two of them stakes performers – 2017 Maryland Million Nursery winner Clever Mind and 2017 Maryland Million Lassie-placed Buff’s in Love.

REDEEMED maintains his spot at the top of the Mid-Atlantic sires lists, ranking as this year’s leading third-crop sire, after being the region’s top freshman sire in 2016, and second-crop sire in 2017.

Enjoy a fall day at beautiful Northview and the opportunity to get breeding plans underway. Light fare and refreshments will be available.
