Irish-born horseman Paul O’Loughlin offers a wealth of experience in all aspects of the business.
Growing up on the Emerald Isle, O’Loughlin began working with horses as a teenager and was soon around many of the finest Thoroughbreds in Ireland with Meadow Court Studs. Located in The Curragh, the farm boasts a stellar broodmare band and sends top-quality yearlings to the sales.
In addition to being with Meadow Court for about 25 years, O’Loughlin spent more than a year with Taylor Made Farm in Kentucky, from breeding season to sales season. He moved to Pennsylvania this past decade and had a helping hand in the start up of Penn Ridge Farm near Harrisburg.
O’Loughlin has made numerous cross-Atlantic trips to England and Ireland, working sales in Europe and putting “people with horses.”
In 2012, he assisted in preparing sales yearlings for Clearsky Farms, including future 2013 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile S.-G1 New Year’s Day.
Handling and managing breeding stock, sales yearlings. . . selecting matings. . . buying and selling horses—he’s done it all.
“To be named Director of Bloodstock is an extreme honor given the stature and rich tradition of the region’s premier Thoroughbred breeding facilities,” said O’Loughlin. “Breeders can always feel they can receive an exceptional value on our list of premier stallions—that starts with communication about the various outstanding options and choosing just the right one for that individual breeder."
“I look forward to getting to know all our existing clients and introducing new breeders to the exceptional line of stallions standing here for the 2014 season. The team at Northview comprises of a hardworking, dedicated group of people who continuously strive for excellence and I am delighted to become part of that team.”
