Jump Start

Get the jump on the next big runner with one of the most consistent sires in nation, JUMP START.

A top-class son of A.P. Indy, JUMP START is the leading sire by number of stakes winners in the Northeast in 2012 and tied for eighth nationally. His dozen stakes winners include his millionaire son RAIL TRIP, who turned in a spectacular effort in the 2012 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile-G1, rallying from next to last to get up for second. During the summer at Del Mar, RAIL TRIP gained his fourth career graded stakes win by taking the Gr. 2 San Diego H. Winner of the Hollywood Gold Cup H.-G1 earlier in his career, RAIL TRIP has lifetime earnings of $1,508,790.

JUMP START is also the sire of 2012 stakes winner SAN PABLO, a wonderfully consistent 4-year-old colt whose record of 12 top-three finishes in 13 starts includes a win in the Philip H. Iselin S.-G3.

Also from his crop of 2008 are PRAYER FOR RELIEF, an earner of $1,144,725 and winner of three consecutive derbies in 2011 – the Gr. 3 Iowa, Gr. 2 West Virginia and Gr. 2 Super Derby — and graded stakes-placed in 2012, and PANTS ON FIRE, who has banked $933,060 from 15 starts. Winner of last year’s Gr. 2 Louisiana Derby and Gr. 3 Pegasus Stakes, PANTS ON FIRE returned after a seven-month break to score easily by four and a half lengths in a one-mile allowance Gulfstream Park in early March, defeating, among others, Gr. 1 winner Dialed In. He added a victory in Monmouth Park's Skip Away S. in May.

And JUMP START's 2010 crop has already yielded three stakes winners!

JUMP START has had progeny earnings in excess of $4 million for four of the past five years. In 2011, JUMP START was the highest-ranked U.S. stallion (by North American earnings) standing outside of Kentucky, with his runners amassing more than $5.1 million.

He is the sire of 33 stakes winners, the earners of nearly $25 million lifetime, and 57 stakes horses from his first seven crops to race—nearly 17 percent stakes horses per starters. And three out of every four of his starters is a winner!

By one of the best sires of sires in the world out of a daughter of one of the best sires of sires in the world, JUMP START has proven to be a source for classic runners. . . and the start of any smart breeding program.
